London Mela
Gunnersbury Park, Popes Lane, Ealing, London W5 4NE
10th August 2008
Last year's London Mela was enjoyed by 55,000 visitors, and this year's looks set to be even bigger, continuing the trend of the festival being one of the biggest celebrations of Asian music and culture outside the Indian subcontinent. A multicultural experience which has extended beyond its ethnic roots, like the Notting Hill Carnival and the Brick Lane Festival, where many diverse London groups congregate to have a good time together. Highlights will include Bhangra MCs, Bollywood performers, leading stars of the British Asian music scene as well as traditional and classical performances. There will also be hundreds of stalls selling food and handicrafts, a children's funfair and a fantastic atmosphere.
