 Career path into radio:
I started out at the BBC and worked there for 8 years before becoming a freelance broadcaster for commercial stations like Capital, LBC and County Sound. There were big changes going on within local and commercial radio at the time, and work for independent stations became scarce. The opportunity to do a show at Sunrise came out of the blue – I began presenting the 11pm-2am show, which became very popular following my previous roadshow work in the community. I built the show up for a year, when the format of the shows at Sunrise changed – I was offered the Breakfast Show, and I’ve been doing the show ever since.
